WE NEED YOUR HELP DEFENDING CHARTER SCHOOL FUNDING TODAY!

Please call your Senator and Representative now and tell them to support Charter School Funding.  Charter Schools are public schools and deserve to be funded the same as traditional public schools are.

Every year at the end of the Legislative Session we face a battle to defend Charter School funding and growth. This is unfortunate and tiresome. Legislators need to hear from their constituents that we want a permanent and positive resolution for Charter school funding.

  • Tell them how important the Charter school option is to you. Charter schools provide parents with an important choice about where their children go to school. Policymakers need to embrace not reject or stunt the growth of those avenues of education where innovation and a focus on meeting the individual needs of students is thriving.

  • Ask them to fix the funding - the money needs to follow the student!

  • Remind them that 15,000 students are on waiting lists for just 25 of the state's 72 charter schools (KSL.com - Demand for charter schools surges ), leaving tens of thousands of parents and children across our state unable to attend the public school of their choice.

  • Tell them that Charter students do not constitute new growth within the education system. They are transfer students who must be funded whether they attend their neighborhood public school or a public charter school.

We need your help reminding our ELECTED Legislators

to place students ahead of systems!
