September's Featured Scholarship Student

"Anthony has been diagnosed with Auditory Sensory Disorder.  As a child, Anthony was delayed in walking, talking, and developing mentally, socially and emotionally.  He qualified for every special needs program the public schools offered but none helped.  When I would volunteer in his class, the teacher spent much of her time battling with behavioral outbursts, not allowing any learning time. 

While Anthony did not fit the public school box, his private school designed a box to fit Anthony's needs.  When he came to the school he could not read, do math, and his emotional and social skills were far below average.  The curriculum is specifically tailored to his needs, which has optimized his chances for academic, emotional and social success. 

Anthony has learned to deal with his frustration, stress, disappointment and mistakes in positive ways.  He has been able to learn how to get along with others, resolve conflicts, and gain skills to appropriately handle difficult interactions.  Since Anthony has attended this school, there has been a miraculous change in him.  My family and friends have witnessed his progress and can't get over his improvement!  He is so much more confident as a person.  Anthony continues to improve every day and has a promising future thanks to the Carson Smith Scholarship Program!"
